The pieces are inspired by the voyage of the space vessel "starcloud" that takes off from Earth with the mission to explore the deadly and mysterious region in space known as the galactic barrier, into which a number of ships have already seemingly disappeared. The journey is arduous and lonely for the crew, some of whom begin to exhibit signs of madness as the distance and time away from Earth grows.
